Reaching Out to Flood Victims in India

Mission Report: Reaching Out to Flood Victims in India

In recent weeks, India has faced a devastating flood, affecting over 200,000 people. The scenes of destruction are heartbreaking. Entire communities have been displaced—many losing their homes, food, and clothing. With nowhere else to go, countless families are now living on the streets or wading through waterlogged areas. Others are attempting to return home, only to find their homes completely destroyed.

The government has begun to provide food for those affected, a crucial step toward survival. However, there is a dire need for clothing and blankets, as countless individuals are left exposed to the elements, vulnerable and cold.

Moved by compassion, we have been able to purchase blankets for some of the flood victims. It’s a small gesture of hope and warmth in a time of great need. But as we distribute these blankets, the overwhelming reality sets in: there are so many more people who need help—so many more families without even the basics to survive.

As we reflect on the scale of the disaster, we are reminded of the words of Scripture, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7). We trust that God will continue to be merciful to these people, and we pray that He will open doors for further assistance.

While we have been able to meet some needs, the crisis is far from over. There is an urgent call for more support—whether through donations, prayers, or resources. Please join us in praying for the families who are suffering and for God’s mercy to cover them in this time of need.
